BROCKHURST GATE
The former civil service sports ground and the former Frater Gate office site are now to be known as Brockhurst Gate to reflect the neighbouring Fort Brockhurst and the fact that this 11 acre site on the corner of the A32 and Heritage Way between Fareham and Gosport, is a very prominent, gateway site on the main approach from Fareham into Gosport.
The prominence and importance of this location has been further established by the recent opening of the Gosport Leisure Centre, immediately opposite, on the other side of the A32. The new leisure centre (see below) which includes swimming pools, a gym and large sports hall is also complimented by a five-a-side football operation run by Play Football.
